Honestly, I can't think of a company in Guatemala that has done a better job of using social design theory, the process of using design to improve lives and access to livelihoods, than Meso Goods.

By participating in public-private partnerships (PPP) with organizations and initiatives such as, Zero-Hunger, Save the Children, Feed the Future, and Guatemala Exports Association (AGExport), Meso Goods has helped create job stability and the revitalize of traditional crafts such as wool-weaving.

This has lead to sustainable economic development within the region, which in turn leads to better access to food, housing, healthcare, and education.

Formerly known as the Mayan Store, Meso Goods is rapidly expanding.  It's ability to provide jobs, while creating beautifully designed items using traditional methods will now include goods from all across Central America, instead of just Guatemala. Meso means middle. Or in this case Central America. So, think Central American Goods.

Watch the videos to the left. You'll have a hard time not being inspired by their mission. And once you visit their store, you'll have a hard time not wanting to buy something. Great design is obviously a focus, and they're on point.

Head to their retail store in Guatemala City, known as the The Mayan Store. 4A Avenida 12-59 Zona 10, Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Or, if you can't make it to Guatemala this year, check out their website at https://www.mesolifestyle.com. Meso Goods are also carried by J-Crew, West Elm, and CB2.
